About Us
The Diablo Valley Patriots is a year-round competitive baseball program based in Walnut Creek, California, offering training, conditioning and tournament play for a select group of Varsity and Junior Varsity level players. It is intended to compliment and not compete with NCS play. The program fields two teams; a 16U team for boys ages 14 and 15, and an 18U team for boys 16 and older.
The program's objectives are:
1) To help its players take
their game to the next level;
2) To provide the training, conditioning and experience necessary to prepare our players to compete successfully at showcase events regularly attended by college and major league scouts and recruiters; and
3) To compete successfully at local, regional and national tournaments.
Many of the program's participants compete in one or more high school sports in addition to baseball. The Diablo Valley Patriots encourage this diversity of interests, especially among Freshman and Sophomores. To deal with the special needs of these players, and to ensure each team's ability to field a competitive squad regardless of the season, the U16 and U18 rosters may carry as many as 20 players. This will afford multi-sport players the flexibility necessary to participate in other HS athletic programs while reserving for themselves the opportunity to play competitive baseball as their schedules permit.
The Patriots offers two sessions; a Fall/Winter session which runs from mid-September to late January, and a Summer session. The Summer session begins in February, with a voluntary regimen of player conditioning and training. The competitive component of the Summer session begins only after CIF/NCS season comes to an end. Beginning in June, each team shall play an average on two tournaments a month. The 18U team shall participate in no less than three Showcase events. When not playing tournaments, the teams will engage in extensive conditioning, training and practice sessions, or scrimmage other local and regional tournament teams.
If you think you have the skills to compete at the regional and national level, and would like to be considered for this program, then please complete our Player Questionnaire or contact me. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
