2009 16U Team
Velocity Summer Wood Bat Classic

        The 2008 16U season is in full swing.   The Patriots' junior squad, with its roster of 14 and 15 year olds, participated in its first tournament of the season, competing against a field of 16 year old competitors, coming away with a "Second Place" finish.

       Coaches Caldwell, Ogata and Estrada continue to train this team in all facits of the game, while Mike Murphy and his staff provide on and off field specialized training for these players.   Last year, every player on the 16U squad benefited from the combination of training and high level competition offered by the Patriots program.   We expect no less this year.   Readying these 14 and 15 year olds for JV and Varsity competition remains our goal, and the coaches and players appear well on their way to achieving it.

       This year, our 16U team's challenging tournament schedule has been augmented by the addition of CABL League play.     As General Manager, it was my job to create a summer schedule that is as interesting as it is challenging.   I hope those of you selected for this year's program enjoy it.

     The 16U team's schedule is posted.   As tournaments, league games, scrimmages, and other events are added, the schedule will be updated.    You should make it a point of checking the on-line schedules frequently.
