With the formation of our 16U and 18U teams, the Diablo Valley Patriots program has shifted into high gear. Blending on-field practice with tournament competition and scrimmages, the 16U team continues preparing for the Junior Olympic competition later this month.
The 18U squad's tournament season is well underway. The senior squad has faced high quality competition in Stockton, Woodland and Southern California. Next stop for the 18U team is the BPA Summer Championship to be held as Cal State Stanislaus.
Overseeing the program's tournament competition are Las Lomas Varsity coaches Bret Katsikas and Gary Caldwell. Coach Caldwell manages the 16U team and Coach Katsikas manages the 18U squad. Mike Murphy, Director of Player Instruction and Development, along with his staff, have been providing on-field instruction in all facits of the game, including position specific training, base running and batting instruction, while sharing with the players major league baseball insights into the game's finer points. Walnut Creek Sports & Fitness Club and Mac Dodds are running the Patriots' Strength Training and Conditioning program.
Schedules for the 18U and 16U teams are posted, and continually updated to reflect all games, training sessions, meetings and practices. You should make it a point of checking the
on-line schedules frequently.
The Diablo Valley Patriots program is now
